08/10/2008 - Bank of England cuts rates Oct 2008
The Bank of England has announced a shock cut in the bank base rate to 4.5% from 5%. A decision on the base rate was not expected until noon 9th Oct 2008 however after an emergency meeting this morning the decision was made earlier than expected.
