28/08/2009 - House prices increase by 1.7% in July 2009
Latest figures released by Land Registry confirm that house prices have increased by 1.7% in July 2009 which is the strongest monthly growth since July 2004. This release coincided with a survey by Nationwide Building Society which confirmed a similar increase for July 09 at 1.6% and represents the 4th consecutive increase in house prices. Some economist whilst still cautious about the future, believe these are very encouraging signs for the economy.
